Overview of our services

Single and mixed feed (constituents & nutritional value)

Constituents and Nutritional Value of Single and Mixed Feed

Precise knowledge of constituents and nutritional value is essential when it comes to using the appropriate fodder.
Our portfolio includes quality testing for raw materials, premixes, mineral feed, concentrates, supplementary and whole feeds, plus grain and cereal products, as well as animal and fish meal. We analyse agricultural fodder, pet foods and special animal food.

Basic feed - grass cobs, silage, hay

Basic Feed: Grass Cobs, Silage, Hay

Just one laboratory test is needed to reveal the nutritional value of the basic feed you have produced yourself.
oes it contain all the necessary nutrients and trace elements an animal requires for good growth and stable health? Nutrient analyses (water, raw fat, raw protein, raw fibre, raw ash, carbohydrates, minerals, trace elements), vitamin and carotenoid assays, fatty acid analyses, as well as amino acid assays, are part of our standard portfolio.

Special analysis - vitamins, pollutants (dioxins, mycotoxins, GMO)

Special Fodder Analysis: Vitamins, Dioxins, Mycotoxins, GMO, etc.

Aside from general nutritional parameters, we offer all the necessary internal quality assurance tests for desirable and undesirable constituents, such as dioxins, PCB, mycotoxins or GMO
Our LUFA-ITL lab in Kiel is one of the leading laboratories in Europe when it comes to vitamin analysis.

You can find more information about GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) here.

LUFA-ITL and AGROLAB Polska: Recognised analysis for GMP+

Our laboratories LUFA-ITL GmbH, Dr.A.Verwey (NL) and AGROLAB Polska (PL) are certified for analysing animal feed as part of the quality control program GMP+.

GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices. The additional plus symbol stands for the integration of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points). GMP+ is a comprehensive international certification system. It defines requirements to guarantee feed safety and sustainability and also independent audits by certification bodies.

You can find the certificate for our laboratory Dr.A.Verwey here or in the service section of the accreditation download area. On the basis of the ISO 17025 certification, our laboratories LUFA-ITL GmbH and AGROLAB Polska Analytik are authorised to carry out analyses for GMP+ registered companies. You can find the respective qualification here or, again, in the service area of the general laboratory accreditation.

Recognised analysis method for QS

The LUFA-ITL GmbH (DE), Dr.A.Verwey (NL) and AGROLAB Italia S.r.l (IT)  laboratories are authorised to carry out QS analyses for our customers. QS sees itself as a quality program that endeavours to assure quality from the farmer through to the shop counter. There is a control plan for the feed industry to ensure the quality of the animal feed. Here, all participants, from the farmer through to the feed manufacturers, are obliged to carry out regular inspections of their products against defined parameters.

All about european feed legislation

Feed legislation in the EU contains detailed provisions concerning the quality, composition and labelling of single and compound feedstuffs, as well as feed additives. Sampling and analytical testing are regulated by guidelines so that reproducible and reliable controls can be guaranteed.

In this context, the following aspects are of interest:

  • Does the feed contain all the nutrients, vitamins and trace elements required by animals for healthy growth?
  • Is the feed free of contaminants, pathogens and genetically modified organisms (GMO)?

The routine testing of feed quality can answer these questions. Safeguard yourself and your commercial success. Let us help you.

Why feed analysis is of vital importance

Man is at the end of the food chain. Consumers have recently received a painful reminder of this fact: dioxin in free-range eggs, MPA in glucose syrup, antibiotics in turkey legs, BSE in steak, dioxin in chicken breasts. The source of these contaminants was almost exclusively traced back to animal feed.

A few black sheep discredit the entire industry with their negligence or criminal intentions. Farmers, retailers and consumers all feel deceived, insecure and threatened.

Only intensified, routine self-checks of raw materials and end products - from one end of the production chain to the other - can restore public confidence.

The AGROLAB GROUP can support you in achieving economic success.
